親愛的弟兄姊妹:
「祂使我躺臥在青草地上, 領我在可安歇的水邊。」(詩23:2)
去年向農友討了兩把韭菜種在花園, 期盼開枝散葉, 年年豐收。但因疏於照顧, 韭菜竟被混在鄰近的雜草中而煙沒了! 原來種韭菜也大有學問, 必須把韭菜根挖出, 重手撕裂把它和雜草分別出來, 還要狠心地把韭菜平頭切割, 重新種在土裡, 幾天時間, 韭菜竟然重現生機。
我喜愛韭菜, 從小就愛吃家鄉的「韭菜粿」。上星期討教沈生製做之道, 承蒙師傅傾囊相授, 粗手做細工, 享受了一頓美味的「韭菜粿」午餐。
聞道韭菜種植所到之處, 驅蟲辟蟻, 重新種上韭菜, 希望修整花園一塊泥地成為好土, 且看能否種些蔬菜。話說孫女親自在盆子下種, 澆水, 發芽, 長葉, 她的所有收成給我們一家吃了一碟鮮嫩的青菜。
上主日崇拜在Plymouth講道的經文內容提及「祂使我躺臥在青草地上」, 舉目在英國四處觀看, 這地並不良於種植糊口, 卻是種草牧羊的好地方, 是讓小孩奔跑, 踢球; 大人在輕柔的草地上躺臥歇息的好享受。

「耶和華是我的牧者, 我必不致缺乏, 祂使我躺臥在青草地上, 領我在可安歇的水邊。」

Dear brothers and sisters,
‘He makes me lie down in green pastures; He leads me beside quiet waters.’ (Psalm 23:2)
I asked my friend for some chives last year and planted in the garden, hoping that it will grow abundantly. But it disappeared in the nearby weeds because of lack of care. Planting chives is not at all easy, I have to dig out the root and separated from the weeds, cut it and plant it in the soil again. It regained life after a few days!
I like chives since very young, the homemade buns of chives. Last week Mr Sum taught me how to make these buns and I enjoyed a delicious lunch of chive buns.
I was told that worms and ants stay away from chives. Now that I have planted chives, hoping that my garden can be a good soil, perhaps I can plant some vegetables. Carys had planted some seeds in a box, watered it, and it budded and had leaves. She shared all her harvest: a plate of greens with us.
I shared Psalm 23 in Plymouth last Sunday, ‘He makes me lie down in green pastures’. The land in Britain is not good to plant the grains, but the grass is good for rearing sheep, a joy for the children to run and play ball games, and to lie on it.
Britain is in a chaos with the uncertainty of Brexit and the resignation of the Prime Minister. The ‘Fugitive Offenders Ordinance’ has sparked heated debates throughout Hong Kong. The trade war between China and America is affecting the global politics. We are all like sheep astray and get lost in the crossroad until we know Jesus, the true God, and are saved.
‘The Lord is my shepherd, I lack nothing. He makes me lie down in green pastures; He leads me beside quiet waters.’
Peace be with you. Let’s commit everything to our Lord.
