親愛的弟兄姊妹平安:
「… 世人和以色列各支派的眼目都仰望耶和華。」(亞9:1)
上個主日崇拜的經文信息, 既是撒迦利亞先知向以色列的各支派發出, 也是給予歷世歷代的人類, 讓我們的眼目都來仰望耶和華。他預言那將要來的王—彌賽亞, 是公義的, 是施行拯救的, 謙謙和和地騎著驢, 就是騎著驢的駒子。(亞9:9) 祂是審判的主, 懲治列邦; 祂是和平的君, 宣揚福音; 祂是守約的神, 用立約的血召聚我們成為祂的子民, 祂就是我們的神, 加倍賜福我們, 今日恩上加恩, 當那日榮上加榮!
這些日子, 英國電視台, 網絡的直播, 親友間互傳的訊息, 香港病了, 香港受傷了。連綿兩個多月, 鬱結難解, 憂悶愈深, 是說不出來的痛, 我們的香港。或是對這東方之珠的一份情懷, 或是來自這400平方英哩的你和我, 對這病症, 我們也許有不同的看法, 但我們有同樣的難過, 同樣的牽掛。
禱告是無能者最有力的武器, 讓我們相約在卡城的晚上11時, 香港的早上7點鐘, 為新的一天禱告。耶和華坐著為王, 祂降雨潤澤眾生, 祂發光照亮萬民。我們第一要為萬人懇求, 禱告, 代求和祝謝, 為君王和一切在位的, 也該如此。
抬頭望天, 那是我們人生的目的地; 俯瞰大地, 這枕首之處, 埋身之地, 只是客旅生涯的驛站。環顧四周, 骨肉至親, 血脈相連的人群, 我們是他們的守望者。
「我的心哪 , 你為何憂悶？為何在我裏面煩躁？應當仰望神, 因我還要稱讚祂。祂是我臉上的榮光, 是我的神。」詩42:11

Dear brothers and sisters,
‘… for the eyes of all people and all the tribes of Israel are on the Lord.’ (Zech 9:1)
The Scripture of last Sunday was Zechariah’s message to all the tribes of Israel and also to all people from all generations. Let us set our eyes on the Lord. Zechariah prophesied the King Who was to come — the Messiah, He’s righteous and He came to save, yet lowly and riding on a donkey, on a colt, the foal of a donkey. (Zech 9:9) He is the Lord of judgment and will punish all nations. He is the Prince of Peace who preached the gospel. He keeps His covenant and His blood of covenant calls us to be His people. He is our God, He restores twice as much to us, grace for grace for today, and with ever-increasing glory on that day.
These days, whether from the BBC, or Live online, or messages from relatives and friends: Hong Kong has fallen ill, Hong Kong is wounded. It’s over two months already, frustrations and sorrow linger on. Pain is beyond words, our Hong Kong. You might have some feelings about this Pearl of the Orient, or, like me, you have come from this 400 sq mile island. You and I might have different views on this disease, but we have the same sadness and the same concern.
Prayer is the most powerful weapon for powerless people. 11pm in Cardiff, 7am in Hong Kong, let us pray for each new day. The Lord is enthroned as King. He causes His sun to rise on the earth, and sends rain on all nations. We have to make petitions, prayers, intercession and thanksgiving for all people, and for kings and all those in authority.
When we look up the heavens, that is our destination. The earth is where we live and die, a stop of our journey. When we look around, we can see all these people, we are their watchmen.
‘Why, my soul, are you downcast? Why so disturbed within me? Put your hope in God, for I will yet praise him, my Saviour and my God.’ Psalm 42:11
