                                                    15th June, 2019

Dear brothers and sisters,

Theresa May, Prime Minister of Britain, has resigned. 10 candidates are running for the top job despite the Brexit chaos. I really admire their courage. Is this the best of the times or the worst?

It has rained for the whole week. I am more concerned about the Fugitive Offenders Ordinance Amendment Bill of Hong Kong. 1.03 million people joined in the march to request the withdrawal of the amendment on June 9. On June 12, people protested outside the Legislative Council and led to bloodshed, more than 70 people wounded. In the press conference, the police reported that they have used 150 tear bombs, 20 beanbag shots and several rounds of rubber bullets! The government still emphasizes that they won’t withdraw the bill. Though the Legislative Council meeting was hindered, they plan to resume the second reading. Hong Kong is in a deep crisis, is there a way to turn around? Could you pray for Hong Kong?

In the last Sunday Service, a verse deeply touched my heart:  ‘Then he called to me, “Look, those going toward the north country have given my Spirit rest in the land of the north.’ (Zec6:8) Each of the four chariots has their own mission, they ran through the land to fulfil their tasks, running a good race, fighting a good fight and keeping the faith. Yes, it has quieted the Lord’s spirit there.

In His hand, the worst of the times is also the best of the times!

Wishing you well.

In Him,

Sam Wong
