親愛的弟兄姊妹平安:
英國的華人教會很多是從大學校園開始的。以卡迪夫城為例，最早的一個查經班，就是在基督徒學生的宿舍中，在那些日子，信徒深深地經歷耶穌的應許：「若有兩三個人，奉我的名聚會禱告，我就在他們中間。」
英國的西人教會也在各方面熱心支援海外留學生福音事工，部份教會對華人留學生更情有獨鍾，給這些華人遊子加倍的關懷和照顧。牧師、長執和信徒都與他們有真摯深情的交流和團契，開拓他們生命的眼界和胸襟，扎根神的話語，並引領他們經歷靈程的深度。我們為他們獻上感恩，並將榮耀歸給神。
學生宿舍的查經班後來成了團契，再從團契建立了華人基督教會，既有本地信主的弟兄姊妹，也有來自港台星馬的基督徒，後來中國大陸開放，教會從兩文雙語變成了三文三語。大中華區的華人，彼此成長背景存在差異，一些共通點卻成了華人基督徒相互交流的橋樑。在生活的接觸中，少不了磨擦和火花，為福音的緣故，我們都在主的愛中，「因祂使我們和睦，將兩下合而為一，拆毀了中間隔斷的牆，」使我們能彼此相愛，同心向我們的同胞傳揚福音和培育門徒。
「因為從頭一天直到如今，你們是同心合意地興旺福音。我深信那在你們心裏動了善工的，必成全這工，直到耶穌基督的日子。」腓立比書一章五至六節是在介紹歐洲的第一間教會，也是在描述每一間海外華人教會的成長歷程。每一個基督徒來到海外都是在神的差遣中，每一個在這裏認識耶穌而相信基督的華人，都在神的大使命計劃中。
到如今，我們雖散居海外，卻是住在主內，縱然遇上百般試煉，但仍有活潑的盼望，使我們能忍耐到底到底，直到主來的日子。

Dear brothers and sisters,
Many Chinese churches in the UK started in university campuses. Take Cardiff City as an example, one of the earliest Bible study groups was in the dormitory of some Christian students. In those days, believers deeply experienced Jesus’ promise: ‘For where two or three gather in my name, there am I with them.’
Local UK churches also zealously support the Gospel Ministry for overseas students in all aspects. Some churches have a special love for overseas Chinese students and care for them. These pastors, elders and believers have fellowship with them, broaden their horizons and minds in life, help them to take root in God’s words and experience the depth of their spiritual life. We are grateful for them and give glory to God.
The Bible study group in the student dormitory later became a fellowship, then the Chinese Christian Church. There were both local believers and Christians from Hong Kong, Taiwan, Malaysia and Singapore, then Mainland China. The church has become trilingual from bilingual. Chinese people have different backgrounds, but some cultural common points have become a bridge for Chinese Christians to fellowship with each other. There might be some conflicts in our ways of life, but for the sake of the Gospel, we are all in the love of the Lord, ‘For He Himself is our peace, who has made the two groups one and has destroyed the barrier, the dividing wall of hostility,’ so that we can love each other and share the Gospel to our countrymen and build up disciples.
‘Because of your partnership in the gospel from the first day until now, being confident of this, that He who began a good work in you will carry it on to completion until the day of Christ Jesus.’ Phil 1:5-6 described the first church in Europe, it is also describing the growth process of every overseas Chinese church. Every Christian who have come from overseas is sent by God, and every Chinese who comes to know and believe in Jesus Christ is in God’s Great Commission plan.
Even now, though we are scattered overseas, we are in Christ. Though we might encounter all kinds of trials, we have a living hope that can help us to be patient until the Lord’s Coming.
